Wellness Warrior

Wellness:     The quality or state of being healthy

Warrior:       A person engaged or experienced in warfare

So how does one choose a blog name? There are a lot of “cute” names out there. Even those that are a little “racy”…. There are definitely catchy ones and those that intrigue. Sure, I want to grab my audience, but I also need to shout how passionate and yes, SERIOUS, I am about health and wellness.

We live in a day and age when over more than one-third (34.9% or 78.6 million) of U.S. adults are obese.

More than 29 million Americans have diabetes. (1 in 4 doesn’t know.)

Heart disease (which includes heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases) is the number one cause of death in the United States, killing nearly 787,000 people alone in 2011.

In 2016, there will be an estimated 1,685,210 new cancer cases.

What is truly amazing is that these chronic diseases can be treated and often healed by diet and exercise! Yet, most of us struggle with one or the other, if not both.

This is not about quick fixes…3 day, 7 day, or 21 day efforts! This is about making real choices that will permanently change your body and the way you think about food, exercise, and wellness.

The goal of this blog is to arm my readers with the knowledge and tools necessary to fight chronic disease, ultimately supporting you to live a healthy lifestyle in a body that you are comfortable with and happy in. I want you to have the energy you need to achieve what you desire and the passion to pass it on to your own family.

I believe we are all fighting a health epidemic in this country.

I am ready to make a difference. I am here to engage with you in this war on obesity and the chronic disease that comes with it.

Will you join me as a Wellness Warrior?

  1. I’d love to join. I’ve been eating so much healthier and excercising more in the past 6 months and I’ve lost 24lbs since joining your gym…woohoo!
